Join members of the family engagement team, as we discuss tips and tricks to connecting with family members, amplifying the family tree, and leveraging community resources for the kids and families you serve. In this training, we’ll go over how to find additional family members, what that first conversation looks like, and the next steps in connecting them with the child/ren on your case. We will discuss barriers to family connections and how to mitigate barriers through intentional information gathering and community resource connections. We’ll go in depth about what to say and not say, how to navigate challenging conversations, and the different types of support a family member can provide. We will also allow space for you to practice some of the family engagement strategies presented.
