Early Family Engagement
Our Early Family Engagement (EFE) program is the first point of contact for families in the days immediately following CASA’s appointment to a case, and leading up to the first court hearing. EFE specialists and volunteers spend 1–2 weeks on a case making initial contacts with children and families, engaging as many relatives and community supports as possible, and representing CASA at the initial court hearing. The team conducts assessments with a sense of urgency, documents their work thoroughly, and prepared the case for transfer to a long-term supervisor and volunteer.
