Family Finding

Interested in learning more about CASA’s important work of keeping relatives and fictive kin engaged in the lives of the children we serve? CASA’s Family Finding (FF) team supports children’s need for connection and relational permanency by conducting in-depth research on family connections for children in foster care. FF volunteers search case files and social media to identify and locate relatives and fictive kin, and cold call phone numbers obtained through a special search database in effort to engage any identified connections as supports or placements for children. In this training, volunteers will learn how to provide this service and ensure that all children have a sense of belonging and connection to their family and community of origin. If you’d like to learn how to amplify the family tree on your traditional case, please attend to learn more!
